This March, Jen attended the ISIS neutron training course, a practical course that gives PhD students the opportunity to get hands-on experience of neutron scattering with ISIS instruments and to meet fellow students just joining the neutron scattering community. As part of the Physics stream, Jen got the opportunity to perform experiments on GEM, INES and ALF.
In the middle of the course, Lucy joined Jen and Ross for their experiment on POLARIS. We were very lucky as we got the last of the beam before Coronavirus caused the ISIS facility to have to shut down. Unfortunately, this also meant that the neutron training course also had to finish early. However, Jen had a great time with the parts of the course she did complete, and thanks particularly to Helen Walker for organising such a good iteniary.
