This week we took a group trip to Cambridge to attend the RSC SSCG Christmas Meeting. This was the first time the meeting had been held in person since the pandemic and consisted of two days of very interesting talks and a giant poster session. Lucy gave an invited talk showcasing our work on ZnV2O4, whilst Sam, Tristan and Jen all presented posters. It was a great end to the year, with a delicious meal at Jesus College and lots of discussions with members of the solid-state chemistry community. Jen also won the RSC Materials Frontiers Prize for best characterisation of a material for her work on LiYbO2 – stay tuned in the new year for details on the paper!
