Last week, Jen had the opportunity to attend the school and conference for Analysis of Diffraction Data in Real Space (ADD2022)! The school entails a crash course in techniques that probe local orders, such as pair-distribution function (pdf) analysis and diffuse scattering, with plenary lectures, tutorials and information on how to reduce data. Jen particularly enjoyed the lecture by Simon Billinge who showed some amazing progress in pdf analysis and what we can learn from such techniques. This was then followed by the conference which had a wide variety of talks. Jen gave her presentation on her ZnV2O4 work and received lots of excellent feedback from the audience. The conference dinner on Thursday night was a particular highlight at Chateau de la Baume!
