Dr Jen Graham Passes PhD Viva

Dr Jen Graham and Lucy post-viva with Jen’s thesis examiners Prof Andrew Goodwin (Oxford)
and Dr Phoebe Allan (Birmingham).

Congratulations to Dr Jen Graham who passed her PhD viva this month for her thesis on the role of correlated disorder in quantum materials. Jen’s PhD was co-funded by the ILL, where she was co-supervised by Dr Andrew Wildes and worked on the polarised neutron instrument, D7. During her PhD, Jen has developed expertise in modelling diffuse magnetic neutron scattering data, as well as materials synthesis and structural characterisation. Her thesis research has been published in leading journals including Phys. Rev. Mater. and Phys. Rev. Lett. Jen has been a valued member of our research group since she joined as an undergraduate summer student in 2018, and we are so proud of her for all she has achieved in that time. We will miss her very much, and wish her all the very best in her next role as a post-doctoral researcher at the Paul Scherrer Institute!
