Shruti and Jacob Attend TEMM 2025

This month, Shruti and Jacob travelled to Abingdon to attend the 2025 Theoretical and Experimental Magnetism Meeting. This meeting brings together experimental and theoretical scientists working in the UK and abroad to foster long-term collaboration and sharing of novel results in the field of magnetism. Both days were packed with a series of interesting talks, including one from alumni of the group, Jen Graham, who presented her 2025 Don McKenzie Paul Thesis Prize Lecture and discussed her thesis work, emphasising her groundbreaking discovery of a spiral spin liquid phase in the distorted diamond lattice compound LiYbO2. She also gave a glimpse into her current research on superconductors at PSI using muons. Jacob presented a poster detailing the very intriguing synthesis dependence seen in the ZnV2O4, generating quite a buzz! Shruti presented a talk discussing the complex magnetism of the quadruple perovskite ruthenate Ba4NaRu3O12, a system she studied during her PhD.
